AI-mediated Communication and Collaboration Norms at Work
Short description
How do colleagues negotiate trust and authenticity when AI takes part in their communication? This project examines the relationship between AI agents, AI-mediated communication tools and human participants. It follows the collaboration norms that emerge as teams decide how to use these systems and what to disclose to one another.
Ethnographic research will investigate how such practices affect perceived authenticity, trust, connection and loneliness over time. The project aims to explain the mechanisms through which AI changes workplace relationships, and to develop guidance on communication norms, disclosure and leadership practices that support social connection.
