Human-AI Co-existence and Role Changes in High-Trust Workplaces

Short description

As AI enters workplaces built on professional trust, it can change who does what and who is responsible for the result. This project follows changes to job boundaries and responsibilities in settings such as consultancies and banks. It asks how employees experience these shifts and when AI agents come to be treated as helpers, partners or monitors.

The research will examine how workflow design, interfaces and governance shape these relationships in practice. It aims to develop an account of role reconfiguration, identify patterns of human–AI co-existence and map the redistribution of tasks. The findings will support guidance on role design, training and communication during organisational transitions.
